Employee was moving plywood on a drywall cart through a doorway. The employee was propping the door open with
their body while pulling on the plywood to get the cart through the
doorway. When they pulled the plywood
through the doorway, a splinter went through their glove and their right hand.
Factors to consider
at your site or on your project include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Inspect material before handling.
- Don’t
use your body to prop open a door while material handling.
- While pushing a
material cart, push on the cart if possible to avoid the material shifting.
