Sharp Edge

A Sprinkler Fitter cut his left elbow. The craftsman was removing a pipe nipple from a sprinkler riser. As the craftsman was pulling downward on a pipe wrench he hit his left elbow on a stainless steel electrical box cover causing a 3”-4” cut on the elbow. The electrical box cover was slightly bigger than the box causing a sharp edge to protrude from the edge of the box.  The craftsman stopped work and covered the cut with a paper towel.

Consider this example as you complete today’s work activities.

Think about the hazards associated with your particular work, and the steps that can be taken to increase safety on your job.
