Be on guard

A lawn care employee was mowing grass on the east side of the plant site. While the individual was mowing, he was struck on the right side of the head by an unknown object. The object struck the individual in front of the right ear causing irritation and swelling. The incident was not reported immediately.  The discharge chute guard was not in-place.

Things to consider at your site:

  1. Ensure all guards are in place for equipment.
  2. Ensure employees understand importance of immediate incident reporting.
