Worker killed when hit by forklift at school site

General Information to share:

Construction worker Danny Karr, 58, of Camby, IN, an electrician for Ermco Electric was killed on December 28, 2006 when he was hit by a forklift truck at the construction site of the new Plainfield High School.  Karr was among a group of workers who were crossing a parking lot after attending a meeting in the building.  The forklift driver Roy Burris, an employee of Purdy Masonry of Zionsville, was headed around a curve and apparently did not see Karr, as he was run over by the right rear tire of the forklift truck.  Karr was taken by ambulance to Wishard Memorial Hospital in Indianapolis, where he was pronounced dead.
