Lifting Ductwork Results in Injury

Four employees were placing ductwork onto clips attached to a structural steel support.  As they picked up the ductwork and moved the ductwork from east to west to place on the clips that were bolted to the structural steel, one of the employees was trying to lift and adjust the ductwork when he got his ring finger pinched/crushed between the

I-beam stand-off and the clip.

 

Factors to consider at your site and/or project include, but not limited to the following:

1.    Revise HSE Plan to include manual handling of material as a hazard and define a procedure for managing the hazard.
